BEL Valves employee celebrated at British Engines Awards

Congratulations to Ewan Lowry who received an award at the British Engines Group Annual Awards Night 2022.

The awards night celebrates the group’s long serving employees who have achieved 25 years of employment, as well as apprentices in their first, third and fourth years.

Ewan Lowry, Trainee Design and Applications Engineer at BEL Valves, was awarded the ‘Apprentice of the Year Award’ for consistently demonstrating high standards of performance in his training and work.

Ewan finished his Mechanical Fitting Apprenticeship this year and now works in the planning and design departments. His manager, Paul Humphreys, describes him as someone who shows versatility and is an invaluable member of the team.

Paul, said: “Multiple areas of the business trust Ewan for his expertise in system knowledge. He uses his initiative when presented with problems and will put forward suggestions for solutions.

“Ewan continues to build on his skills and has decided to start a Mechanical Engineering degree as he begins his transition into becoming a Design Engineer.

“He is a great asset, not only to the planning and design departments, but to the business as a whole.”

All apprentices were commended for their outstanding levels of commitment as they progress through their apprenticeships.
